ABOUT US
SOUTHSIDE BAPTIST CHURCH
WHO WE ARE
REACH. CONNECT. GROW
We at Southside exist to Glorify God by Reaching the Lost, Connecting the Saved and Growing the Saints.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20
OUR MISSION
Since 1936, Southside has stood to be a light in the community, a place where everyone is welcomed and at home. When you arrive on our campus, it is our desire that you feel a small, close community atmosphere amidst the large, growing campus. We exist to reach our community in worship and on the web to extend the Gospel in Greenville and throughout the world. We also desire that our members be connected with a small group where they can grow and nurture each through difficult and prosperous times of life. Finally, we strive for growth in the lives of those who are a part of Southside.
Our mission is simple: REACH. CONNECT. GROW.
OUR HISTORY
In February of 1936, God placed a passion on the hearts of 44 individuals for a church in this area of Greenville, and Southside Baptist Church was formed. Under the leadership of R. Z. Mullins, Southside members met in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Aldridge until July 19, 1936, when the new building was completed. God has continued to bless over the years through numerous build projects and expansion of our campus from the 150 seat auditorium to our current 500 seat Sanctuary. We are thankful for God's continued hand on us in the past and we continue to look to the future to reach our community.
